Monday Memory Moment

While I was a student at the University of Idaho I became a member of the Student Alumni Relations Board (SArb). Which led to the other...loving the University of Idaho because I joined SArb, or joining SArb because of a love for the University of Idaho.
I also liked to say SArb expanded my horizons. I had the opportunity to participate in a number of district and international conferences for the Association of Student Advancement Programs (ASAP).
Here are some pictures from our 1999 trip to Chicago. This indicated my first flight on an airplane.
We went to the Micheal Jordan restaurant. The people in Chicago thought we were weird to walk from our hotel...Chicago is flat...
They were having some sort of street art display with the cows. There were lots and lots of them throughout the city.
We went to a Chicago Cubs game. I can say I say Sammy Sosa play ball.
A few of us adoring our advisor Timmy.
More in the coming weeks....

Caring for Your Introvert - The Atlantic (March 2003)

A friend posted this article, as a joke I believe. I read it to see if it might be of use. (I work with a lot of people.) I was enlightened. Rather, I had something brought to the forefront of my memory...
I have two personalities.
A number of years ago I took a career aptitude test. I was taking this assessment at the University of Idaho Counseling Center. The goal was to gain insight. One should figure out what to do with their life, at some point. After responding to a bunch of word pairs and groupings one area, of six, should receive the highest score, by far.
Nope. All six areas where pretty close. That's mee, a well rounded individual. The two areas that where the highest, might have been off by one point. And, polar opposites. The inspiring words of the counselor..."Now we know why you are having such a hard time deciding what to do with your life." --Give that man a pat on the back--
I have decided being a Special Education Teacher is a perfect fit. I get to be social. I get to play with others. I also need to be rather obsessive-compulsive about paper work.
What did I glean from this article? I need to do more care for my inner introvert.

Monday Memory Moment

If you have not read "The Legend of the Three Trees" I highly recommend it. The first time I remember hearing the story is when Beth read us the book as a part of a Relief Society Enrichment activity. I loved it!
Later, I borrowed her book to read as part of the last talk I gave prior to leaving Moscow. I don't think my Bishop had any idea what he was going to get when he said I could talk about anything I wanted to.
I believe the trees where given to mee by my sister Nancy. She said she remembered how much I loved the story and thought of mee when she saw them bundled together in a set of three. They currently sit on my entertainment center as a reminder of the lesson told by the three trees.
